No Rainbow, No Art Variety Show
Omschrijving:
Let’s celebrate queer art! This year for Rainbowdays, Tankstation, in collaboration with J&SV Exaltio, have created a very special treat for you: a three-day mini-festival celebrating art by LGBT+ makers. We could talk about the hardships this community faces for hours, but instead, we want to put a spotlight on how much LGBT+ contribute to art and entertainment.
Wed 11 Oct, 19:30, we will give you the No Rainbow, No Art Variety Show. In this stage show, we will show you some of the most exciting new queer creatives of various disciplines. Read more about them below! Entrance: FREE!
Variety Show Artists
Droom Dit
Droom Dit is a six-headed band with electric stage energy and all-disclosing autobiographical songs. Their songs sound like deep love slowly slipping away, the deadliness of loneliness, or a bloodthirsty desire for mental calmness. The poetic lyrics are accompanied by a modern mix of raw electric beats, dreamy guitar riffs, and cutting synthesizers. One request only: dance, scream, sing, and dream along with Droom Dit.
Puck Verras
Puck Verras is a visual artist who explores worldbuilding, art direction, and costume design. Their work typically incorporates a narrative element and has a campy and whimsical style that allows for the exploration of complex issues in a more accessible way. By using this approach, beyond stigmatic boundaries, they aim to combat desensitization by building a more empathetic world where people can feel comfortable sharing their stories and caring for one another.
Gedachtespinsel
Elliot is a musician, and actor, and loves to dance and tell stories. Every detail in our world possesses a story, and in his creative process, Elliot loves to take you along to discover them all. As a musician, he is part of the feminist punkband TRUI as a multi-instrumentalist. Styled as ‘Gedachtespinsel’ he writes his own songs about growing older, not fitting in, being a bad plant parent, and capitalism.
HOEDAT
HOEDAT spells out House of Entertrainment, Dance, Animation & Theater. As a creative business it tackles everything in the field of entertainment, providing theater in the streets, party entertainment, and hilarious character archetypes without batting an eyelash. Right now it is working on it’s first full-fledged musical production ‘Queerland’ in collaboration with MIAUW. This musical presents a comical adventure in a country where everybody is LGBT+ - or aren’t they all?
Will we see your there? As always it’s possible to reserve for dinner with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays here - https://tankstationenschede.nl/reservation/
