The 1980s became the Me! Me! Me! generation of status seekers. Binge buying and credit became a way of life and 'Shop Till you Drop' was the catch phrase. Video games like Space Invaders and Pac Man, aerobics, minivans, camcorders, and talk shows became part of our lives. ET phoned home, the Berlin Wall fell, Cable was born and MTV, The digital compact disc (cd) revolutionized the music industry. We learned the new Dances from MTV including slam dancing, Lambada, and break dancing. Pop, rock, new wave, punk, country, Italo Disco and especially rap or hip hop became popular in the 80s. Michael Jackson's album Thriller became the best selling album of all time.
